Poem: Outside SF Office (2008.03.24)

2008.03.24
The Outside SF Office

Behind the Hotel Triton
A Suit smokes in the alley
A stray arm of the sun
Combs a well bearded
Homeless man as he digs
Through a dumpster,
As if he were operating a copy machine
Father and Sun in the same
Concrete office cove
Of cultural dissonance
? Ignore the other
"your generation is not what I worked
And Fleshed for"
And
"Your generation knows nothing of world
And is Owed nothing"
I think I read this between their brows at
A walkers distance on Grant Street.
Its there and gone.
Like everything.

Other Notes Same Day

Fourth a mile open view down the SF Mall.
A wall.
@ 7th & Market (the Odd Fellows Temple)
"Truth"
Painted on it
Faces city hall
I’m not sure if
This is a symbol of separation
Politics and truth
Or
This is a symbol of perception
City hall looks out into its city
And it looks for truth.
It may be both.
Antinomy runs rampant in the streets.

Near Sanchez and 30th St I trip through the Solstice Crack.
