Lassen Trip with the Boys (2008.07.19)

Me and a couple of the guys (Adam S, Adam T, Ivar, and Tony) went up to Lassen this weekend. We slept at Manzanita Lake and did the sumitt hike and the hike out to Bumpass Hell on Saturday. On Sunday we hit Kings Creek Falls and then made the trip back home. Here are a couple of shots from the trip:

You would expect to get to the top of Lassen have a huge peak, instead there is a huge ah,ah...., we named it the "Commando"


The smoke on the way up set a black shadow layer across all of the land:





Bumpass Hell (named after an explorer who accidentally had his legged boiled off in one of the hot vents) is like mini-Yellowstone:



The trail down to kings creek falls had lots of wildflowers, including Tiger Lillies:
