Wow. Jaw dropping wow. For an author's first novel this sets the bar way way high. If your a fan of Rushdie you will undoubtedly be a fan of "The God of Small Things." The way in which the book is written; the non-chronological plot exposition, the richness of descriptions of India, characters, and illusions is like opening up a box with so many things that you don't know what to look at...in a good way. I just started re-reading the first couple of chapters again, because they are more intelligible in retrospect and even more beautiful.
I highly recommend this book.
